I have had my maxjax for over 10 years, although it dont lift quite as even, still doea a good jon for the money. Unfortunately,Its looks like it has rasied considerbly in price as i paid under $2000 for mine. Might b overpriced now for what u get
I use the MaxJax as intended, I mount and dismount it. Works great lifts cars securely. It has definitely paid for itself, I have used it to replace exhaust and lift motorcycles. It also saves time. Set up takes about 15-30 minutes depending how fast you move, BUT I was able to change oil, change brakes and rotate tires in 30-45 minutes with the car on the lift.
The equipment is heavy and setting up the lift takes some strength. What I could wish for is more handles. Handles on the arms handles on the pins. Making the heavy parts easier to move around.
Last thing. I do not have a flat driveway so installation required me to cut concrete and make pads. I found that I was having issues with the anchors that maxjax sent, I could not get them to open so I purchased different drop in anchors that work very well.
I love my MaxJax. It makes working on the car a whole lot easier. I just wish it would go maybe 3"-4" higher and I wouldn't bang my head as often. Rolling on my (low) stool underneath the car, quite a lot of suspension components are *just* at the right height to hit me in the head when I don't pay sufficient attention.
Had received a faulty power unit that never ran properly. Customer service recognized the problem, didn't fight and try to avoid, representative quickly authorized the replacement and it showed up quick. Back in business.
Instructions for the M7K do not address how to install the cylinder clamps. When I called MaxJax the tech wasn't sure but mentioned installing it 6” above the lift head and said he would send me the updated instructions. I received the instructions and they are the same ones that came with the M7K and do not address where on the cylinder and at what orientation on the cylinder. If I am going to work underneath a lift I want precise installation instructions.
Maybe this is an issue with Trustpilot. . . but I don't have my product yet, per my other review component, so how can I review it?
So I'll split the difference and give it a 3. Not sure if I can edit this later, another miss I'll chalk up to Trustpilot. Where can I review them? Give them a 2.
Disappointed in the shipping. 1. I was given a tracking number, but didn't know that I had to call to make an appointment for the actual home delivery. The pallet the lift was delivered on was damaged during shipping and I had to help the truck driver tear down the packaging to remove from the truck one piece at a time. The lift is scratched in multiple areas. I know it will not be new forever, but I did buy a new unit and would like for it to be in new condition when receiving the unit. . . I am in the process of collecting pictures and sending them to my sales rep.
Chasing leaks down has been a nightmare. I've used the supplied thread sealant as well as Teflon paste. Now the quick disconnects are leaking while connected to each other.
It works great after I replaced packing in one cylinder and replaced the other.
The scratches were not bad, but it needed better packaging. Had to widen one of the holes at the post bottom for the fittings to fit. The hose fittings are leakers when disconnecting. One cylinder lifted about 3/4 inch slower than the other. Customer service said it was within the standards. Now the weaker cylinder is leaking. Had to order a new one. Hopefully, it will fit in the original unit. If it did not leak at the fittings (since corrected by the newer models), I would give it 5 stars for the purpose it was designed.
