I hired Kevin to install the lift. glad I did. My enjoyment comes from walking under my toys. Installing a transmission on my feet instead of on my back now that is joy. No crawling I just raise and lower to to body work engine work. to paint sand and talk trash all while standing under my truck. I even sit down and enjoy coffee under my truck sitting in a chair. great product. stable, quite and looks good. now have 3 of these lifts and likely to add a fourth with the next toy purchase
I am not the handiest person but am fairly mechanical and I was able to install the 4 post lift mostly myself. I had help with the heavy stuff but otherwise not. The instructions were pretty clear but could be a little better mainly on the air lines. I did go to youtube to check out a few things which helped also. Very well built product.
The lift itself comes as advertised, that said, I really wish that the runways had a textured surface as they are finished in a smooth powdercoating that could be slippery (especially if oil or grease were to get on them). As such I bought an industrial grip tape for over $200 to apply myself for safety's sake. I'm not sure how much it would cost to add to the manufacturing process, but I'd rather have the runways made that way from the factory.
As another point of note, if you plan to have a third party assemble/install the lift; decide who you'd like it to be before ordering and contact them, as, while free shipping is advertised, if you're getting a lift for your home (and you don't own a forklift) then there over $400 of extra shipping cost. You may be able to ship to your city and have the installer pick it up which could save you that extra cost.
The lift (HD-7W) arrived earlier than anticipated and Kat L, the Product Specialist set me up with an installer for less cost than what I can find. Even my wife, who was hesitant about this lift being too obstructive was pleased with the way it looked. Very happy with it so far.
The lift was installed in 2017 and worked fine for my Corvette from day 1. Still works fine for the Corvette and my 2010 Ford Edge. In 2019, I decided to use it for an oil change on my 2012 Tahoe. The HD-7W rated for 7,000 pounds will not lift the 5500 pound Tahoe (Curb weight 2670 Rear and 2778 Front.) Customer service was polite but after asking me to check all the cable routing they could not help me figure out the problem with the product.
